Ortakent is located 3 nautical miles by sea or 12 kilometers by land from Bodrum. This is the perfect beaach for those who want cooler a refreshing breeze, as Ortakent has both. The village is on a rich and fertile plain and the fruit orchards extend down to the sea. Because of its fertile soil Ortakent is one of the oldest continuously settled areas on the peninsula. Touristic establishments now abound in the area and the beach offers a variety of restaurants and accommodations. Climbing over a small hill on the west of the beach you reaach Kargi cove, a quieter and sandier beach than Ortakent.
The daily boat tours stop here for waater sports and lunch. In the village of Ortakent the Mustafa Pasa tower , built in 1602, is wort exploring; it is a rare example of local architecture of that period.
