 Situated at the mouth of the Gulf of Gökova, surrounded by pine forests and facing a pristine sparkling blue sea, Yaliçiftlik remains in the ‘known to the initiated’ category. That is perhaps the reason why several top class hotels and holiday villages have established themselves in the area:to host their guests in unspoilt, tranquil surroundings. Their care to preserve nature while building and operating their facilities is praiseworthy.
The long lovely beach is uncrowded, the few seaside restaurants serve good inexpensive food, the countryside retains its rustic charm (after all, Yaliçiftlik means ‘a farm by the sea’) and the forested mountains are perfect for long treks in the shade of tall trees.
 Boat trips can be made to even more secluded spots by day or to the entertainment of Bodrum by night. To these holiday activities may be added exploration of ancient Lelegian and Carian sites as vestiges of the cities of Syangela and Theangela lie in this very region.
